So I love me some Nas and I picked up the Akai MPD24 yesterday. I figured I would play around, make a reggae beat and throw some Nas vocals on top of it. In case you dont know what the MPD24 is here is a screen shot…
Each of the 16 pads are pressure and velocity sensitive so you can have some serious control over what you are doing. I used that with Reason and came up with this… the beat is completely done with reason and the MPD24. The vocals are analog vinyl.
Keep in mind I love samples and wanted to play with them so it might be a bit overload…
So I have decided that I would like to pick this bad boy up for many reasons other than the fact I can control Scratch live with it. Don’t get me wrong I am not really a fan of the Digital DJ era but my digital music collection well out weighs my vinyl collection. So if anyone out there is feeling spicy and would like to spread the love you let me know!
Tonight’s pre going out track is…
Major Lazer – Hold The Line (Edu K Remix)
This wonderful “Hold The Line” remix done by Edu K. Comes through at a blazing 320kb/sec. Enjoy it you suckas!
I thought this was a pretty funny picture of Diplo on the right and Switch on the left.
This is a nice video of the type of crowd response you can expect to see at a Mad Decent show.
This is actually an F-ing BANGER I found from R!M!E! of one of my favorite tracks off the new Major Lazer album. I figured it would be a waste to actually talk about the album, as you can see they are getting enough press for the original.
A Chinese worker killed himself after a fourth-generation iPhone prototype he was responsible for disappeared.
The 25-year-old engineer, Sun Danyong, who worked for Foxconn, jumped from a 12-story building last week. A Chinese newspaper reported that his property had been seized and that he was held in solitary confinement, where he faced “unbearable interrogation techniques” for having lost one of 16 “4G” prototypes. Foxconn apologized, but questioned reports that police beat Sun.
Apple issued a statement this afternoon in response to a report by CNET. A spokeswoman said the Silicon Valley firm is “saddened by the tragic loss of this young employee and we are awaiting results of the investigations into his death. We require our suppliers to treat all workers with dignity and respect.”
After an exhausting fishing/kayaking excursion I figured I would make a quick track. This is called “I’m Still In Love With Freedom” which uses one of my favorite HipHop groups Jurassic 5. Enjoy!
I’m Still In Love With Freedom
On a Quick side I did want to point out that I am not a digital DJ… straight analog! The only technical digital part is the fact that I record what I do in MP3 format!
Again, I was a little bored and decided to make a quick track… This one I dubbed “Swingin’ In To Shut ‘em Down Like Whoa”. Little bit of the older selection, not that yesterday was any better… Enjoy. Reminder: I do not consider myself to be good! In case you forgot! HAHA
Swingin’ In To Shut ‘em Down Like Whoa
So I am well aware that I have no real talent when it comes to making tracks but I thought I would have a little fun today and make this track I like to call “We like to party with cocaine”. It reminds me of the man they call “Z” and my trip to house with an elevator (the song, not the blow)!
I feel bad for taking such a long break so I am going to give you a couple of posts today so enjoy you suckas! This track reminds me of my brother… you get two versions, the original then the remix done by Felix Da Housecat off the Verve Remix album. Enjoy!
